June 09 Technique Book Class

I’ve got the cards ready for the June Technique Book Class and I thought I’d share them with you.  The first technique is the Re-inker Wash, which I shared with you a few days ago.  However, since that previous post, I have received my new In Colors and thought it would be fun to use them.  Instead of designing a brand new card, I just changed the colors.

The new In Color re-inkers I used are: Mambo Melon, Rich Razzleberry & Dusty Durango.  The cardstock is Mambo Melon, Rich Razzleberry & Regal Rose DSP.

Here is the Shaving Cream card using Brilliant Blue & Real Red re-inkers along with the new Modern Label punch.   It’s my first patriotic card in quite a while but I figured that July 4th is just around the corner, so I’d better get started.  I’m LOVIN’ the new patriotic stamps coming next month…they’re at the top of my “want list”.

Floating Re-inkers

I decided to play with the Floating Re-inkers technique which has been getting a lot of attention lately, being used with the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set.

I chose the stamp set Illuminations since it's on the retirement list and I wanted to get more use out of it. The re-inker colors are Garden Green, Old Olive and Handsome Hunter. First I stamped the image with VersaMark on Shimmery White Cardstock, then embossed it with clear embossing powder. Next, I misted the paper with a water bottle. Finally, with an Aqua Painter I dropped the re-inker colors onto the wet paper. The water does the magic for you, but if you want to move the colors around, just use the wet brush.

Raspberry Tart Brag Book

My apologies for the lack of postings.  I guess I will never be a daily poster, although I would like to get in the habit of at least weekly posts!  We shall see…

I have been busy making a baby brag book for my niece’s baby shower later today, and while I’m happy with the results, it’s not exactly what I had in mind to begin with.  You know how projects sometimes evolve as you work with them, and that’s what happened with this.  I had intended to use only Stampin’ Up products, but ended up adding some 7 Gypsy’s rub-ons and some bling from Micheal’s.  Then I messed up on the cover and ended up using some non-SU paper from my stash.  All in all I think it’s pretty cute and I think my niece will love it.
