Coffee Filter Brag Book

Finally I have finished the coffee filter album! I have not been feeling well for the past week, so everything was kind of on the back burner, but the class is on Friday, so it's crunch time! Anyway, here's a peek at what we'll be doing. For those who haven't signed up yet, there's still time and a few spaces available. Class will be held Friday February 20, and Saturday Feb. 28 and is $20.

Some of the supplies I used were:

Stamps: A Happy Heart, Be Happy, So Very,
Yummy, Many Happy Returns, Bugs & Kisses, and Various Alphabets

Cardstock: Pumpkin Pie, Riding Hood Red, Bashful Blue, Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, So Saffron and Washington Applie DSP

Inks: Pumpkin Pie, Pacific Point, So Saffron, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red

Other: Various Stampin' Up punches and dies, Dew Drops, brads, ribbon, coffee filters, Bind It All, chipboard, wiggle eyes, stapler & metal edge tags.

I think this will make a very fun brag book for moms and grandmas. Hope you like it!

Mother/Daughter Valentine Class

Just wanted to share the V-Day cards we made at my recent Mother/Daughter Class....which actually turned out to be all Grandmothers/Granddaughters! We made 5 cards and all the girls ranging in age from 8 to 15 loved them. I think the grandma's liked them too, but the best part for them was spending the day with their granddaughter(s).

Monday Card Class Projects

Wow, what a good feeling to have one of my computers back up and running! I promised some pictures so I'd like to share what we did at the Monday Card Class this month (and we'll be doing again next Monday the 16th).

The very first set I ordered from the new Spring Summer '09 Catalog was Quilt Quips because my mom is a quilter and I wanted to make her a box of cards for her birthday. Well...her birthday was in January and she got an IOU! This will be the first card in her box.

To do the quilting, we took a 4" x 5" piece of card stock and covered it with rows of 1"x 1" squares from the Patterns Designer Series Paper. The colors are Old Olive, Rose Red, Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze and Pink Pirouette. Once the squares were glued in place, we ran the piece through the Big Shot using the Top Note Die. Next, we stamped 4 quilting squares with Black Staz On on Shimmery White CS, colored with our Aqua Painters and inks in the same colors as above. After coloring, we cut the squares out, placed them on a Rose Red mat and mounted on the quilting piece.

Some of the ladies who were in class got real creative with the quilting portion and we instantly knew who the REAL quilters were!!

This is the second card we did in class...isn't it gorgeous? I love this new set, Fifth Avenue Floral, and have even used the matching Decor Elements on the walls in my stamping studio. I'll have to get some pictures of that for a future posting.

The rose is embossed in red on Shimmery White CS. We ran the black background through the Big Shot using one of the new Stampin' Up exclusive texture plates, but I'm not sure you can see it in this photo. We then added a piece of vellum behind it so that it just shows a little "slip" between the black and gray.

Just an update on the Designer Paper Pack 6" x 6" samples...I am waiting on one package that was backordered. Once that one arrives, I'll get everything cut and ready for you. If you didn't get in on this the first time, I've started a 2nd round and I have room to add YOU. Just $25 (prepaid) and you get a 6 x 6 piece of each and every Designer Paper in the new catalog (does not include the Patterns DSP). So all in all you will get 120 different 2-sided pieces to use on cards, crafts or scrapbook layouts.

I am amazed at how BEAUTIFUL these papers are in person and want to mention that 4 of the packages are either embossed or textured and are cardstock weight.

Coming along...

What would life be like without a computer at hand? That is what I'm experiencing right now, as I sit at a friend's house giving this update. My laptop died a few weeks ago and is being replaced by the warranty company and then last Friday I got up at 5:30 a.m. for my coffee and computer time on the ancient old family 'puter, and the thing told me it couldn't start Windows. Black computer screens with white type are generally a bad sign. So now that computer is in the shop, fixable and receiving some extra memory. I hope to have it up and operational by Monday evening so my 15 yr. old will quit moaning and groaning about it.

I've gotten lots of stamping done whilst not having a computer, and the sample for the Coffee Filter Brag Book Class is coming along nicely. I should be able to post pictures very soon. If you have kids, grandkids, or are expecting grandkids someday, you'll want to have your own copy of this cute brag book. I've still got a few spots available both on the 20th (Friday) and the 28th (Saturday), so if you think you might be interested, sign up! If you see the sample and decide it's not for you, just let me know and I'll remove your name.

Hang in there and don't give up on my blog...I promise lots of pics as soon as my new laptop arrives!
